Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) – offers veterans the chance to buy and grow their own small business
Last year sbLiftOff co-hosted the first national conference on the subject, “VETERANS ETA 2021: Capital Fueling Veteran Entrepreneurship,” with our charity partner, the National Veteran Small Business Coalition. VETERANS ETA 2022 will take place November 2, 2022 from 12-2pm ET.
One Veteran Finds His Dream
John Hubbard, a Special Operations combat medic for the U.S. Army, bought a trailer manufacturing company in Clearwater, Florida. “I wanted to be the majority owner, and if that meant I’d buy a snow cone truck, that’s what I was going to do,” he recalls.

In the post-World War II era 50% of veterans owned their own business. Today that number has dropped to 9%.
