Client Story: C2 Solutions Group

An army veteran seeks a culture fit for his performance-based IT services GovCon company

The Challenge:

Gary Shumaker, a former Army veteran, was the majority owner of a government contracting company with SDVOSB status. C2 Solutions Group provided project management and IT services to a range of agencies, including the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company had two best in class prime contracts and a diverse customer base among agencies, but its designations meant that another qualified veteran had to buy C2.

The Approach:

The majority owner sought a culture fit with a new buyer. We identified Oasys International, a small SDVOSB company led by an Air Force veteran with more than 130 combat missions under his belt, to acquire C2.

The Impact:

Oasys International acquired a lucrative portfolio of existing prime contracts including a significant backlog of task orders and a pipeline of new contracts and C2’s majority owner, Gary Shumaker, was able to retire.
